Board of Assessors

I served as a member of the Northampton Board of Assessors for several years prior to joining the City Council in 2006. I am currently serving as the Chairman of the Northampton Board of Assessors and am a Massachusetts Accreted Assessor. I have a good working knowledge of proposition 2 ½, the Northampton budget process and Massachusetts Municipal Finance laws and regulations.

Northampton Housing Partnership

I served as a member and Vice Chairman of the Northampton Housing Partnership. The Partnership is a city committee that works to promote affordable housing and bring housing opportunities to Northampton Residents.

Northampton Cable Television Commission

I was a member of the original committee that brought cable television to Northampton and oversaw the first renewal of Northampton’s cable television license.

Elm Street Historic District Committee

I have served as a member of the Elm Street Historic District Committee. The committee performs historical reviews of proposals for construction and alterations of buildings on Elm Street from the gates of Smith College to Childs Park.

Central Business Architectural Committee

I serve as Chairman of the Architecture Review Committee for the central business district. The Committee reviews proposals for construction and alterations to preserve the architectural integrity of downtown Northampton.
